A Christmas Carol
Beschreibung ↓
Ebenezer Scrooge is a bitter, cold-hearted miser who lives only for money and despises the joy of others. On Christmas Eve, he forces his underpaid clerk, Bob Cratchit, to work in a freezing office, grudgingly allowing him to leave for the holiday while rejecting every gesture of goodwill with a sharp “Humbug!”
But Christmas cannot be ignored. In the streets, the city comes alive with light, warmth, and celebration, while Scrooge remains untouched by its spirit. He refuses charity, dismisses his cheerful nephew Fred, and shows nothing but contempt for those in need.
That night, everything changes. Scrooge is visited by the ghost of his former partner, Jacob Marley, bound in heavy chains and doomed to eternal torment for a life of selfishness. Marley warns him: three spirits will come to guide him through his past, present, and future and give him one last chance to change.
What follows is a powerful journey through time: from Scrooge’s lonely childhood to the joy and hardship of families celebrating Christmas, and finally to a chilling vision of his own death and forgotten legacy.
Shaken to his core, Scrooge awakens transformed. Determined to rewrite his story, he embraces generosity, kindness, and joy—sending gifts, helping the poor, and rediscovering the meaning of human connection.
